The objectives for which the Society is established are:
- To promote and support educational, research and developmental activities in agriculture, livestock, environment, engineering and allied sciences for sustainable and profitable farming systems.
- To encourage innovations and adoption of modern, sustainable and climate-resilient technologies integrating crops, livestock and natural resource conservation.
- To manage and conserve biodiversity and bio-resources for sustainable food and livelihood security.
- To improve public health through food and nutrition, advancing research by finding parallels between agricultural and medical models and enhancing food safety and quality.
- To enhance public awareness, knowledge and positive perceptions of scientific and technological advancements in agriculture, livestock, agribusiness, engineering, human health and food processing etc. through seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops, trainings, exhibitions and outreach programs.
- To collaborate with national and international organizations, universities, research institutes, industries, NGOs, farmer groups and private agencies for joint research, development and technology dissemination.
- To promote entrepreneurship, skill development and capacity building in agriculture, livestock and allied sectors for rural employment generation.
- To support rural development through value addition, agri-processing, market linkages, livestock-based enterprises and farmer-producer organizations (FPOs) and self-help groups (SHGs).
- To assist in the implementation of new schemes and policies and to facilitate effective execution of government and non-government programs for agricultural and rural development.
- To publish research papers, journals, popular magazines, periodicals, books, technical bulletins, reports, success stories of development and other materials related to agricultural research and technology transfer.
- To encourage students, researchers, scientists, professionals and farmers in the agriculture and allied sector, the Society shall recognize and honor outstanding contributions by individuals, teams and farmers through awards and distinctions.
